AKRON – September 27, 2016 – Braun & Steidl Architects is excited to announce the hiring of two new employees in their Akron office. Erica Deutsch is the new Business Development and Marketing Manager, while Michael Kessel is a Registered Architect.
“We are thrilled to have Erica and Michael join the firm and are confident that they will be key contributors to our future growth and service to our clients.” Said President of the firm, Chas Schreckenberger.
Erica Deutsch will build upon the momentum previously created by Rachel Schwarz, AIA, whom recently retired after nearly six and half years of service to the firm. She is responsible for developing and generating new business opportunities, managing the RFP delivery process and leading all marketing initiatives. Erica was the Sales & Marketing Manager at a branding and wayfinding firm in Cleveland for eleven years, prior to joining Braun & Steidl. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications with a focus in Marketing from Cleveland State University. She is also a member of the City of Hudson’s Planning Commission.
Michael Kessel, AIA, NCARB comes to Braun & Steidl with over ten years experience in the A|E|C industry. Most recently he worked with a Design/Build Construction firm in Northeast Ohio. In the last ten years Michael has gained a wide and diverse range of experience through part-time internships during his studies, as well as full time work after earning his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Architecture from Kent State University. He has worked on project types ranging from warehouse improvements to intensive care units, all the way to reviewing shop drawings for the United States Capitol Building Visitors Center. As one of 12 staff architects, Michael will be working on a variety of project types, putting his experience to work for Braun & Steidl clients.
Braun & Steidl Architects has seen steady growth over the years and continues to seek projects in religious, higher education, K-12 schools, public, corporate, historic restoration, housing and hospitality markets. The hiring of Erica and Michael add to the staff’s skill-set to help keep this trajectory.
